Harsha Meets Commonwealth Secretary General Patrician Scotland

Deputy Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Harsha de Silva met with Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland at the Office of the United Nations Permanent Representative in New York this morning.

The Deputy Minister said discussions had centred on a Commonwealth wide interoperable legal framework that was ‘important to think of as we move forward with the contours of the planned Colombo International Financial City legal and regulatory structure.’

Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland had also met with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Office of the United Nations Permanent Representative where enhancing bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and the Commonwealth were discussed at length.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is currently in New York to attend the Ocean Conference that ends today. Deputy Minister for National Policies and Economic Affairs Harsha de Silva and Development Strategies and International Trade Minister Malik Samarawickrema accompanied him.
