An explosion occurred at an electric transformer near the President’s official residence on Keppetipola Mawatha at around 12. 15 pm today.

Cinnamon Gardens Police confirmed that two fire engines belonging to the Fire Brigade had arrived shortly thereafter, to put out the flames.

No one was injured in the incident.
