Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews is to play the next ICC Champions Trophy match with India, SLC sources said.
However, they also confirmed that Mathews would only contribute to the team as a batsman.
Mathews missed the first ODI against South Africa as he was recovering from a calf injury.
Sri Lanka's stand-in captain, Upul Tharanga faced a two match ban due to slow overrate at the match against South Africa.
As a result, Tharanga will miss the ODIs against India and Pakistan.
SLC sources added that Niroshan Dickwella ans Kusal Janith Perera might open Sri Lanka's batting at the match against India.
