A nightlong pirith chanting ceremony to invoke blessings on the deceased from floods and landslides will be held at the Independence Square tonight.

Over 1,000 monks of the Maha Sangha, including the Maha Nayake Theras, will attend the pirith ceremony.

The all- night pirith chanting will begin at 6.00 p.m.

Organizers invite the devotees interested in the event to be at the venue dressed in white clothes, before 5:00 p.m.
