The Korean government has decided to provide humanitarian assistance worth of USD 300,000 in the form of relief goods to Sri Lanka as it battles the devastating loss of lives and property caused by floods and landslides.
Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea conveyed a message of condolences to President Maithripala Sirisena, in which he stated, ‘On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Korea, I would like to convey my most sincere sympathy to Your Excellency and the people of Sri Lanka, who must be in profound sadness over the recent grave calamity, as well as my deepest condolences to the victims and the bereaved families.’
