A Cabinet Sub-Committee consisting Finance and Mass Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Foreign Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake and Public Enterprise Development Minister Kabir Hashim has been appointed to oversee relief efforts.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee has been appointed to obtain allocations required for redevelopments by reprioritizing allocations made in the Budget 2017 for development projects and other matters.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee is also expected to make recommendations on suitable methods for the rehabilitation of damaged buildings and other capital assets.
