Minister John Amaratunga said he was ready to step down from politics to pave way for youngsters. 

The Minister made these remarks addressing a public meeting in Nattandiya recently. 

“We have a group of able MPs in Parliament today. I thought to myself I have served enough. It is time we seniors make room for the juniors. I have never lost. I have only won. That’s because I served the people well,” the Minister said.

“Today we have a government that is made with the combination of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the United National Party. Some people are standing in the way of the government due to their greed for power. But no matter what conspiracy, we will not fail,” the Minister further said.
