UPFA MP and National Freedom Front stalwart Weerakumara Dissanayake said there was no division in the party and there was no move to oust Weerawansa as the party leader.
He made this remark while responding to queries whether there would be a leadership change in the party, as speculated by some websites.
"There is no issue in the party. We do not have differences of opinion and no one thinks Weerawansa should be removed from his position as the party leader," he explained.
He also added some groups were attempting to create divisions in the party to gain petty political mileage.
"We know some elements want to divide us. But, that will never happen."
The National Freedom Front was formed after Weerawansa and his group broke away from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna in 2008.
