Minister of Petroleum and Petroleum Gas Chandima Weerakkody said that the SLFP has the potential to take power in 2020 under the leadership of President Maithripala Sirisena.

Speaking at a seminar of SLFP members in Galle to raise awareness on the party convention to be held on Sunday, Weerakkody said that the party has won the confidence of all communities of the country.

No one would be allowed to dismantle the party, Weerakkody also said.

All electoral organizers of the SLFP in Galle District, including Southern Province Chief Minister Shan Wijayalal de Silva, Piyasena Gamage and Nishantha Muthuhettigama were present.
