A 10 acre land owned by the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation will be leased by a private company to implement a project to generate electricity through solid waste as a solution to the waste disposal issue.
The land is situated in Muthurajawela and would be leased for 30 years.
The proposal was made by Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka and it was approved by the Cabinet, said Minister of Parliamentary reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilaka.
