Recognizing that a considerable income is lost by the government through unregistered motor cycles, the cabinet of ministers recently decided to provide an opportunity to register all such motorcycles.

Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala De Silva proposed to the cabinet of ministers to grant registration for such motor cycles as a concession, after checking the documents with regard to motorcycles that confirm with the provisions of the Motor traffic Act, and not to prejudice legal importers of motorcycles. The concession will be granted only for four months.
