Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will leave for Singapore in the early hours of September 1 to take part in the Indian Ocean Conference 2016.
Organized by the India Foundation, the conference will be held on September 1 and 2 at the Shangri La Hotel, Singapore.
Wickremesinghe will be making the inaugural address of the conference.
Deputy PM of Malaysia Dato Seri Dr. Ahmed Zahid Hamidi, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood, Former President of Maldives Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, Thai Minister of Culture Vira Rajpojchanarat, Arts and Culture Minister of Mauritius Santaram Babu Sri Lankan Minister of Culture and Wayamba Development S.B. Navinne, Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam Dang Dinh Quy, Japanese State Minister of Foreign Affairs Kishi Nobuo will be among the participants at the conference.
Wickremesinghe will be accompanied by his wife Prof. Maitree Wickremesinghe, Secretary to the PM Saman Ekanayake, Additional Secretary to the PM Saman Athaudahetti and Special Assistant to the PM Sandra Perera in this trip.
