The Minister of State for External Affairs of India, General Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), who is currently in Sri Lanka on a three-day official visit, arrived at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Memorial in Battaramulla yesterday morning (26) to attend the wreath - laying ceremony and pay tribute to the Indian soldiers who died in Sri Lanka.
High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka, YK Sinha, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva, officials of the Indian High Commission and a host of officers and sailors also took part in honouring the late IPKF personnel who died during their peace keeping mission in Sri Lanka.
