Regarding abduction of a youth, UNP MP Hirunika Premachandra and eight others were ordered to appear in the High Court to collect indictment by the Colombo Magistrate Court today (26).
The Attorney General filed indictment against Hirunika Premachandra and eight of her supporters on 29 counts including abduction, threatening and intimidation, in the beginning of the month.
The incident took place on December 21, 2015, when a youth was allegedly abducted and later released by some individuals using a defender jeep used by Premachandra and allegedly threatened the youth after the abduction. She was arrested by Colombo Crime Division in January, and was released on bail.
MP was questioned whether these allegations disgraces the government by a journalists. She replied that the issue is about her not the government.
