The Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be organizing a Mobile Consular service in the vicinity of Nallur Temple, Jaffna from August 28 to 31, to coincide with the festival of Nallur Temple, the Foreign Ministry said.
The Mobile Service is being launched with the objective of creating awareness on the range of the multiple consular services being extended to the public, by the Consular Affairs Division of the Foreign Ministry.
Through the Mobile Service, the public would be able to obtain information with regard to the procedures to be followed for a number of consular services such as attestation of documents; repatriation of stranded Sri Lankans; information of Birth, Marriage and Death registration of Sri Lankan expatriates at Sri Lankan Missions overseas; details of salary dues, compensation, legal and insurance dues of Sri Lankan migrants and procedures to dispatch human remains of nationals that have passed away overseas.
Officials from the Department of Immigration and Emigration would also be represented at the Mobile Service to provide required information of their services, including information on Dual citizenship and registration of citizenship. Officials of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau would also take part in the Mobile Service.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera would be opening the Mobile Service on Sunday, August 28.
