During the media conference held by the Joint Opposition yesterday contradicting ideas were presented on te formation of a new party.

UPFA MP Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena stated that there is no pint of making a new party. He further stated that if they move forward as an independent group and show that they will represent the country and the nation, people will support more.

Joint Opposition members, MP Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and MP Bandula Gunawardane stated that the new party will be formed at the right time.

Meanwhile, when asked about the statement of S. M. Chandrasena that the constitution of the new party has already been formulated, Gunawardane said that is was a private idea of Chandrasena.
