The FCID yesterday informed the Colombo Magistrate Courts that they are conducting investigations into the alleged financial fraud at Sri Lanka Cricket under the former government.

The investigation was launched following a complaint by JVP MP and COPE Chairman Sunil Handunnetti, the FCID said.

Accordingly, the alleged roles of former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, former SLC Secretary Nishantha Ranatunga and SLC officials in relation to alleged financial frauds are being investigated.

The Magistrate Court directed the FCID to report the progress of the investigation on September 20.
