Joint Opposition stated that the decision to participate at 65th anniversary celebration of Sri Lanka Freedom Party will be announced after the meeting with the members of asana bala mandala of the party.

This was stated by former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, after a meeting of Members of Parliament who are representing Joint Opposition, held yesterday.

He further stated that his participation at anniversary celebration is unsure since he has a prior commitment abroad which was confirmed before the invitation was received.

The JO MPs met the former President yesterday to deliberate on the issue. Some JO members had said earlier that a decision could be announced today.
