Nine cases filed by the Bribery Commission against former MP Sarana Gunawardena were fixed for trial on December 6 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Aruni Artigala today.

Gunawardena is accused of causing unlawful losses to the Development Lotteries Board when renting vehicles while he was its Chairman between 2006 and 2007. He has been charged for corruption under Section 70 of the Bribery Act.

When the cases were considered today, Gunawardena pleaded not guilty for the charges.
