UPFA MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena said that no 'Joint Opposition' MP will join the government as they are not foolish enough to climb on board a sinking ship.

Speaking to the media outside the Colombo Magistrate Courts today, Abeygunawardena said that the government was showing signs of serious decay as everything it starts get floundered.

The government is like a diabetes patient in advanced stages. Everything it starts end up in a debacle, Abeygunawardena said.

He also commented on the removal of several SLFP organizers and said that those who were popular and who had made immense sacrifices for the party have been sacked.

The JO will decide on whether to take part in the SLFP convention only after discussions with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Abeygunawardena also said.

The convention will be held on September 4 in Kurunegala.
