Sri Lanka Freedom Party Nuwara Eliya District Organizer Periyasamy Pratheepan said that the SLFP was expanding among the estate worler community in the Central Highlands.

Speaking at a press conference today, Pratheepan thanked President Maithripala Sirisena for appointing a person from the Indian Tamil community to a district organizer post. Sirisena is the first SLFP leader to do so, he said in gratitude to the president.

Pratheepan also said that he will work closely with the President to upgrade the living conditions of his people.

Even though former President Mahinda Rajapaksa ruled the country for a long period, he did not do enough for the estate worker community, Pratheepan said.
