Minister of City Planning and Water Supply Rauf Hakeem stated that if the country wants to reconcile, it is a must get rid of the dark past of kidnapping and killing by investigating about them.
After the war, we harmed ourselves, missed the window to reconciliation and offended the international community, Hakeem said addressing a meeting in Galle yesterday.
Hakeem added that “We have a responsibility to uphold the right of the parents and relatives of the disappeared to get a closure”.
He stated that the ‘good governance’ government has taken the necessary steps to establish proper governance without corruption.
