National Freedom Front Spokesman Mohomad Muzammil today slammed the JVP for its justification of the Office on Missing Persons bill, adding that it has joined forces with the USA in supporting this controversial legislation.

Addressing the media at the party headquarters, Muzammil said that the JVP has been justifying the OMP despite the unethical manner in which it was passed in Parliament.

Furthermore, the JVP has offered support to a bill introduced through the influence of the USA, Muzammil said. Effectively, the capitalist USA and the socialist JVP have joined forces in passing and justifying the bill, he added.

"We do not know if the JVP has abandoned socialism or the USA has abandoned capitalism," Muzammil quipped.

He maintained that the OMP is extremely dangerous since it could become a 'factory' to create evidence for a war crimes tribunal in future.
