An individual named Asela Bandara, who is said to be a Coordinating Secretary of Minister Kabir Hashim, was released on bail yesterday by the Mawanella Magistrate's Cort over damaging a jeep.

Another individual, Reginald Gamage, was also released on bail for the same incident.

They had allegedly attacked a jeep parked outside a businessman's house in Menerigama, Mawanella.

The two were released on a cash bail of Rs 10,000 and two sureties of Rs 200,000 each. They were also ordered to appear before the Mawanella police on the first and third Sundays of each month.
