Stones were thrown at a train traveling in Kelani Valley Line on Sunday at Kirivandala area, the Railway Security Force said.

Railway Security Force has complained to the Police that shutters were damaged by the attack. The train was travelling from Colombo to Awissawella at the time.

Several stone attacks at trains were reported during the recent weeks across the country. Four people were arrested for allegedly throwing stones at a Mount Lavinia bound train and were remanded by the Fort Magistrate's Court yesterday. Meanwhile, an assistant education director who was hit by a stone thrown at a train, passed away on 7th.
