Former Supreme Court Justice Sarath de Abrew died following a fall in his home today.

Abrew has been indicted at the Colombo High Court for an alleged sexual assault on a housemaid. He was said to have assaulted the domestic helper in June 2015.

There was a separate court case against him at the Mt. Lavinia Magistrate's Court on causing injury to the same person. This case was recently forwarded to the mediation board.
