Former CSN CEO Nishantha Ranatunga withdrew a request made from the Colombo High Court for the temporary lifting of his travel ban imposed over the CSN case.
Through a motion, he informed court yesterday that he has to leave for the UAE for a conference from September 30 to October 2 and his passport was required for obtaining visa.
The court reserved the order of the motion today. However, Ranatunga withdrew it through a lawyer before the order was given. It is expected that he will make the request from the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court.
Ranatunga was arrested with four others on January 30 on alleged money laundering at CSN. The other four suspects, including Yoshitha Rajapaksa, were released on bail on March 14. Ranatunga filed a separate bail application and was released on March 16.
