The power rewarded by the people for 05 years cannot be changed for another 15 years says Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare, Thalatha Atukorale.

She expressed this while participating at a United National Party membership promotion programme at Nivithigala electorate.

“Our leaders did not steal. Did not cultivate families. Without a disgust demonstrate in protest marches," Athukorale said. She asked it the the government has done anything wrong, like in the Rajapaksa era.

"During those days democracy was not there, the police was politicized, the government service was politicized. After ending an era when the Rajapaksa family including the former President Rajapaksa considered only about themselves, the government has started a new journey. With the consent of the President and the Prime minister, both main parties came together without any party division to build the country through a directive. After this the Rajapaksa-clique somehow try to seize power" she said.

"I declare with responsibility, this government will be in power for another 15 years, not just five" the Minister added.
