JVP MP and Chairman of the Committee of Public Enterprise Sunil Handunneti presented to Parliament a report containing an overview of investigations by the COPE on 19 public institutions.

He said that the report was an overview of the investigations carried out from January to April 2016.

Fifteen more institutions have been summoned before COPE, he added.

Handunnetti also said that the investigations are hampered by certain Standing Orders. Parliament should take note of this and the COPE should be more accessible, Handunnetti said.
