Several 'Joint Opposition' members are prepared to support President Maithripala Sirisena, Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya claimed yesterday.

Answering a question raised by the media during a press conference, Devapriya said UPFA MP Dallas Alahapperuma could be one of the MPs who will join.

"He could be one of them. I cannot confirm it now. But he is a good SLFPer," Devapriya said.

He also commented on the recent burning of letters sent by the party to some former local councilors. Devapriya claimed that it was done under the influence of a key member of the 'Joint Opposition' from Kurunegala.
