A warrant was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya against singer MG Danushka for failure to appear in court for a case regarding his public performances of the songs of popular singer the late MS Fernando without prior approval.

Fernando's son Sarath Fernando had filed the case under Intellectual Properties Act.

The two parties were expected to report of the settlement of the case to the Magistrate, following an undertaking by Dhanushka not to sing the songs without prior approval. However, he failed to appear before the court today.
