UPFA MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage today claimed that those who hooted at the Sri Lanka Freedom Party headquarters were not participants of the 'Joint Opposition' protest march but outsiders who had joined in.

Addressing a media conference today, he regretted the incident, saying that most of the leading participants had joined the front of the march as it was approaching the end. He also said that different people joined the march and some of these outsiders must have carried out this hooting.

The protesters had marched showing admirable discipline throughout the march until this incident, he pointed out.
