Former TNA MP Podiappuhamy Piyasena was further remanded till August 5 by Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne for alleged misuse of a vehicle given him by the Prime Minister's Office.

The MP had requested for a vehicle in February 2015 and has allegedly failed to return it after the August 2015 general election. He was defeated in that election.

A driver brought the vehicle to the Kollupitiya Police on July 28. Piyasena was arrested by the CCD the next day.
