On the eve of the Pada Yatra organised by the Joint Opposition, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has received his official bungalow from the government.
Rajapaksa's official residence was previously occupied by President Maithripala Sirisena when he was a minister.
The government had spent Rs. 30 million to renovate Rajapaksa's official residence located at Ward Place.
As the former President, Rajapaksa is entitled to an official bungalow, official vehicles, security and a staff.
The former President received his official vehicle 16 months after he fell out of power.
