Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa was remanded till August 8 by the Kaduwela Magistrate today.

He was arrested on July 18 over an alleged financial fraud at the Divi Neguma Department when he was the Minister of Economic Development.

He is charged for alleged misappropriation of Divineguma funds for the supply of GI pipes to local government authorities.

A bail application filed at the Colombo High Court by Rajapaksa was also fixed for August 8.
