The Gampaha Magistrate refused a request by the police to issue an injunction order banning the 'Jana Satana Paada Yatra' and other political events in Gampaha tomorrow.

Police informed that there are several political programs in the city on Sunday by rival parties including a UNP membership drive, a SLFP meeting and an event to commemorate the Rathupaswala incident. The Police requested an injunction order against all events.

The Magistrate refused to issue such an order and directed the protesters to occupy only one side of the road. Meanwhile the Magistrate also directed that all events should be held in accordance to the law. If anyone breas the law they should be arrested, the Magistrate also ordered.

The other events should be held an hour before or after the protest march passes the city, it was also directed.
