UPFA MP Namal Rajapaksa said that the President and Prime Minister should carry out the promises made to the people before conducting party membership programs to disrupt the 'Joint Opposition.'

Speaking to the media outside the Getambe Temple, Rajapaksa said that the UNP suddenly organized party membership drives to disrupt the protest march by the 'Joint Opposition.'

None of these obstructions will achieve the government's goal of disrupting the march, he said.

Rajapaksa claimed that huge numbers were already turning up for the march to Colombo. The march is expected to reach Colombo on August 1.
