The police informed the Joint Opposition that the 'Jana Satana' protest march could not be launched from Getambe since it is within the city limits of Kandy.

Furthermore, the police adviced the 'Joint Opposition' to launch the march from across the Peradeniya bridge.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday said that the march will be launched from Getambe since an injunction order was issued against it from being launched from the city limits.
