Disabled war veterans staged a protest today near Colombo Fort Railway Station, and complained of the total neglect of their welfare by the government.

They say that the veterans are denied of a pension and the next of kin get a meager amount as compensation at the time of a death.

The protesters marched towards the Presidential Secretariat and staged a sit in on Lotus Road, Fort.
