Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today paid a courtesy call on Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo.

The meeting took place at the Sri Lanka Prime Minister's official residence in Temple Tree, from 9.40am.

Later, Ahmad Zahid met the island republic's Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera at the ministry at the Republic Building.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Home Minister, arrived in Colombo early Thursday for a two-day working visit aimed at enhancing ties between the two countries which share many similarities.
