Former Narahenpita Crimes OIC Sumith Champika Perera filed a revision application at the Colombo High Court, seeking bail over the Wasim Thajudeen murder case.
In his application, Perera says that the conspiring to murder charge does not apply to him. He is also innocent of withholding facts as he acted upon instructions of higher police officers, he argues.
He also points out that he has already given a confidential statement to the Magistrate regarding the case.
The Colombo High Court noticed the Attorney General and the CID to appear in court over the application on July 31.
Perera and former Senor DIG Anura Senanayake are in remand custody over Thajudeen murder. Senanayake has already filed a bail application which will be taken up on July 25.
