The pro-coup faction leading the military coup in Turkey has released a statement declaring their determination to keep on fighting despite increasing odds against them.

They also advised the people to stay indoors.

People have taken to streets across the country in several cities to protest against the coup.

Troops involved in the coup who had occupied the Bosphorous Bridge in Istanbul surrendered a short while ago.

Meanwhile, President Racep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the nation again and said that the coup will be crushed. He claimed government was now in control.

A helicopter which attacked the Parliament was also shot down, he said.
