The 'Joint Opposition' will not be able to begin their 'anti-government' campaign from anywhere and the recent meeting in Badulla was a good indication of what is to come, Minister Harin Fernando said.
Addressing the media in Badulla yesterday, he said that the 'Joint Opposition' held a meeting in Badulla to 'arise with Mahinda' but the former President did not rise with them.
Following the failure of the Badulla meeting, former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage now wants to begin the campaign from Kandy. Thereafter someone else would begin from Kalutara or Galle, but the fate will be the same, Fernando said.
He added that the so-called Shadow Cabinet has also become an illusion and by awarding Shadow Ministerial portfolios to all MPs, the 'Joint Opposition' has given an indication of what was to come under a government formed by them.
