Former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake filed a revision application with the Colombo High Court, seeking an order against the Colombo Additional Magistrate's decision not to grant bail over the Wasim Thajudeen murder.

Senanayake, through the application, argues that he has been wrongfully charged for conspiring to commit murder under Penal Code Article 296.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris recently directed that he does not have jurisdiction to grant Senanayake bail and said that he should seek bail from the High Court.

Senanayake and former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera are in remand custody over the murder of Thajudeen.
