The alleged ring leader of the group of animal hunters surrendered to the Panwila Police today.

They became known around the country after photographs of their hunting exploits were released on Facebook. It showed them with carcasses of different animals, and with weapons in hand.

It was revealed later that the pictures were several years old.

The ring leader, who is said to be a resident in the Kandy District, surrendered to the police with two others.

They are expected to be produced before court today.
