The Right to Information Bill was passed today in Parliament with amendments, without a vote.
The RTI Bill, which was first presented to Parliament in March this year was challenged at the Supreme Court.
Following the recommendations of the Supreme Court, the bill was once again presented to Parliament yesterday.
The RTI bill was a key promise by the 'good governance' government. It claims that the bill will allow the public to get information regarding the public authorities and it will be important to assure responsibility at a higher level.
