The Colombo High Court today extended the interim order against an order given by the Colombo Chief Magistrate to release fifteen elephants on bonds, till July 7.
The interim order was extended when the revision application against the Magisterial order was considered by the High Court.
The respondents submitted their objections to court today. The Attorney General will make his submissions regarding the respondents' objections on the next date of hearing.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya on May 20 allowed for the release of 15 elephants kept by various individuals allegedly without proper licenses, on a bond of Rs. 10 million for each elephant. The AG filed a revision application at the Colombo High Court.
