Anti-Corruption Front filed a writ petition with the Court of Appeal seeking a Writ of Quo Warranto preventing Arjuna Mahendran from holding the position of governor of Central Bank.

The petition points out that Mahendran can not pledge allegeance to the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka since he is a citizen of Singapore.

Furthermore, the petition also states that there have been previous allegations of corruption against him, most notably the Treasure bond issue on February 27, 2015.
