A dozen people have been arrested overnight during anti-terrorist operations across Belgium on suspicion of plotting attacks in the country, RTBF channel reported.

The operation has been confirmed by the federal prosecutor's office. It told Reuters that at least 12 people were detained and some 40 houses were searched during the raid.

A total of 40 people were questioned following the raids, the prosecutor added.
