Former Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage's lawyers withdrew a motion filed at the Colombo High Court seeking a clarification regarding the High Court's decision on the revision application filed by the AG.
On Monday, Colombo High Court Judge Manilal Waidyathilake temporarily suspended the Nugegoda Magistrate's order to grant bail to former Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage on alleged unlawful possession of an elephant calf.
The direction was given by the judge following submissions by the Attorney General regarding the revision application filed on the same day.
The Nugegoda Magistrate had granted bail to Gamage on June 2.
When Gamage's motion was considered today, Senior State Counsel Dilipa Peiris said that the motion had been filed to seek clarification on a High Court order and that such a motion was illegal.
Meanwhile, the Registrar of Nugegoda Magistrate's Court was noticed to provide the records of the Magisterial Inquiry into the bail application after it was informed that the records had not yet been submitted to the High Court as it was directed earlier.
The revision application is to be considered on June 21.
